Relationships

@Chris,

The reason the queries in your database do not work is because of the relationships. Have you updated the tables any from your last post? (Because that Aged Debtors is not ever going to work.) If so, please upload the new sample.

Which database are you referring to? I just downloaded and re-checked AgeDebtors3 that I uploaded in post 12. It all works fine from what I can see.

You can't enter data into the query because it's a cross-tab query. But you can enter data into the tables and the queries run fine.

As for the database uploaded by the OP, then yes, there are problems with the relationships (see post #14)

If a Query cannot add new data, then what is going to happen in the Form Stage? Please have a look I updated database.

Thanks:)
You can add data. You can add it directly into tables. But I would expect you to create some forms and queries rather than enter data directly into the tables.

The queries I created are purely for the purpose of generating an aged debtor report. Why would you need to enter data into these queries? It wouldn't make sense.

What data do you want to enter?

Looking at your latest databse...the purpose of the AllocationID is to balance off invoices and payment. For example, if a payment of £500 was made, this would be balanced off with invoices for £200 and £300. But they must net to zero. You have number yours 1,2,3,4 which doesn't make any sense. I hope I've explained it better. Please take another look at AgedDebtor3 to see how some transactions balance and the rest are blank.

Chris,
Sorry. I had looked at AgedDebtor and paly"ed it. It really works. Now I understand your idea. Once payment received. It allocated to relevant invoice as "1". In qryAgedDebtor, it appears payment as '-', and outstanding as '+'. So aged debtor will only show outstanding. It's very very good idea!

Many Thanks:)

Chris
It's still referred to qryAgedDebtor. Is it possible to add in Balance in tblAgedDebtorPeriod for sum of period. If it's possible, how to define it?

Thanks:)
