Relationships

Hi folks,

Please could someone help me with the following problem?

Why is it when I click on the TblCarerdetails and try to open a record with the plus sign I am present with the following error message

“Enter Parameter value CarerID”

The frmCarerRota seems to be working ok, the relationships seem to be ok i.e

TblCarers can have many rotas i.e. a different TblRota each week (1 - M)

TblClients can have different TblRotas each week (1 - M)

Any help or feedback would be much appreciated

I am hoping to understand why the tables are not linking correctly, if I click on the TblCarer plus sign.

I should see the Rota details and a plus sign. If click on the plus sign, I should see the clients details.

Therefore I am assuming that my relationships are not correct, I think I need to add an association table, but where and what fields do I need to add/create.

Hmm - are you sure you didn't link to a query? (I can't open you database I've only version 2000).

I had a look at the database because I am only learning I think it could be the relationships not correctly link.

But JHB might beable to better assist you I have created an .xls for JHB since he couldn't open the database.

Sorry - but it didn't help me much with an Excel sheet, but I'm nearly 100% sure, it is linked to a query.
I've made an example where I've use a query as a Subdatasheet.

Please could you help me with the following?

I would like to pre populate the rota table with the Client Name & TelNo via a Combo box

i.e. the Combo box would display the Clients names and depending on what name is select the TelNo field would then be filed in automatically.

I’ve had a lot of trouble with this as I’m not really sure where to store the Combo data
i.e. if I store the Combo data in the Client table.

I will have duplicate information i.e TeleNo and Combo numbers relating to a specific Clients.

Could you also give me any advice on my Relationships i.e

TblCare can have many TblRotas (1 – M)

TblRota can have many TblClients (1 – M)

Any advice would be much appreciated

Ps. Would I also be able to create reports including the Client 'address' from the FrmRota, without having the Clients address on the form?
