From a beginner using 2010.
Have functioning and compiled accdb.
Wish to send a test version as a split FE/BE to another country via web - this will include the runtime.
Am now testing this scenario and have split the accdb to accde front and passworded the BE.
When FE&BE are transferred to the test runtime machine the location has changed so the tables dont link.
Have read these http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162522 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/154397 but do not have Developer Toolkit.
I can see the "Linked Table Manager" but do not know how to use that to enable relinking to an unknown location.
Can I make a module / vba or ?? to do the relinking when the FE&BE are run on the "new" machine the first time ?
Further information -
The test viewer will be told about the importance of keeping the complete db folder together as supplied and installing to fixed drive.
This is a "display only" db - no input or edits from the viewer.
This is a test for DVD distribution (again no edits by viewers).
I am the only person who will ever edit this db.
SQL server version is the long term target but beyond my capabilities now.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you GinaWhipp - will look at these and post result.

Short progress report:

No joy - have tried a number of combinations and nothing will work in RunTime.
Correction - a standard accdB will run correctly. And an accdB renamed to "R" will also run.
Also cannot get a simple accdE to function in runtime. (Wants the entire vba project deleted!) - much discussion about dlls and registry changes on forums about this.
Have updated to SP2 runtime.
Will now be trying SP1 (yes I know that is silly but ......)
One version tried by JSTREET includes a line saying that it will only work in an accdB or accdE front end application (so this must exclude accdR application ?).
Cannot make any "split" version function on runtime machine. (but all versions work correctly on the machine with full Access2010).

I would be content for now just to get a straight accdE to function without split.
Back later......

EDIT:
As expected SP1 was "already installed" by SP2.
But can now get an accdE to function in runtime. (this has no autoexec)
Split version still will not play.
Will post if I can get a split version to run.

EDIT 2:
Turns out to be the password.
JStreet now functions as accdB split without password BE on a runtime machine with SP2.
Now moving on to disable shift key and set trusted location by vba for any other runtime machine.
Thank you - over and out.
