I have created a form using the form wizzard. I got a form header with fancy colored bars. How do I get back to a plain background?

in the properties for the form (or the form section) you have probably selected an image (world.bmp or stone.bmp etc) with the wizard - just delete the image in the property sheet.

The picture you posted has controls in the header. Move all of the controls to another section of the form (page header maybe) and then select a different AutoFormat that only uses a color for the header and not a picture. It looks like you are using ac2007 or ac2010

Thanks for the reply. I have tried what you recommend and selected the plain white background (Autoformat None). The background colour changes, but the horizontal lines stay. Any way to get rid of those?

You should now be able to select any of the Autoformats. Try others and see what happens. Any chance you can post this stubborn accdb so we can play with it?

the horizontal lines are just a layout grid, arent they?

they wont be there when the form is open, i think

None of the above solutions worked for me either. Here's what works:

  • Select the form rather than the form header
  • Under format, find picture
  • It will show (image); rather confusingly, if you click on this it will not show the location of the current image but will browse for a new image
  • Delete (image); click OK when asked if you want to delete the image
Background gone

Thank you very much, Jobowo! That worked for me. I wouldn't likely have thought of that.
