I have a table with a year's worth of check information for 45 different bank accounts. I want one report that shows the monthly check volumes per account per month and at the end a summary of all months for each account. Can anyone think of a better way to do this then to create a query and for each month's data and making them sub reports within a report that will summarize all of them? I really would like to avoid 12 different queries (one for each month)

One query and one Report and Group By the Month/Year field in the query *within* the report.

That won't work because they are dates. So the I have to query a date range to get a month's worth.

Actually, you can Format() it that way in your query, i.e.

Code:
MyMonthYear: Format("m/yyyy",[YourDateField])

Hmmm, I tried that and it just put m/yyyy in as the value in the MyMonthYear field. Btw, I failed to mention that my date is actually in a funky format which is needed of YYYYMMDD
See below...it also shows my problem the first 4 are one acct number diff dates shows me 1 for each date. Even though I don't have my date in the view results of the query. The rows after the 4th (so starting with the 5th) are all one account counting. I need this to be one row with one number summarizing the account (not by date). Am I making sense? :banghead:

You have to use what I posted above. The way I posted it is only for the report to Group By it won't be used for anything else.
