I've design a database to do Invoices. but the sheets we print to are pre-printed, so the report has to be a template to print in the right areas. Unfortunatly the areas are outside normal A4 format. I have to change the paper size to Legal (8.5 x 14in) but access doesn't save this it always resets to A4, Any Ideas Anyone?

change paper size in design mode

Sounds like your changing the paper size while previewing the report. Instead, do into design mode and change the paper settings, save the report, and then you should be all set.

Thanks that helps a lot, But I do hear it has something to do with different printer drivers is this true, if so what printers work best?:D

Actually, there is an update feature in Access that helps to keep your fieldname changes correct from table to query, form and report that also seems to reset the printer settings -- I especially notice it when I develop a database at my office and then take it to a user site. (Probably because the user has a different printer than mine, but not always.)

My rule of thumb -- test all reports at the user site and bring a copy of the database you can edit. (So you can reset the printer settings if necessary.)

There is a way to turn off the update feature, but I have not tried that yet.

Your printer needs to support this paper size, also there is a bug in the auto correct feature, or whatever it's called, turning it off seems to be the best option
