Report Sorting Numbers Oddly

Hello all,

This is driving me nuts. I have a query the field "Objective" and the data in that field is "A.1", the next record is "A.2" and so forth all the way up to "A.18" I have a report that is pulling its data from that query, but in the report the data shows up in the following sequence, A.1, A.10, A.11, A.12 and so forth. The report is grouped on the "Objective" field "with A on top".

Thoughts?

"A.10" is a string and not a number, so nothing odd about the sort.

Okay, so there's nothing odd about the sort. Is there a way to make it sequential?

Add a new field -- number type -- and use it for sorting.
