Any ideas why my custom ribbon for 2007 is not appearing in 2010? I even tried a simple startFromScratch and that did nothing. VBA is running, and show user interface errors is on but there are no errors during start up.

Hi

Copy and paste here your XML

You are using the USysRibbons table or a common table (tblRibbons)?

USysRibbons. The computer is not networked, so I can't paste anything. The start from scratch ribbon was only that though, so not much could go wrong.

Hi
I tested here with this structure and it worked.

<customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/01/customui">
<ribbon startFromScratch="true">
</ribbon>
</customUI>

I did just that and it does not respond at all. I get the usual ribbon. User feedback is on but no errors.

edit: There was a setting in the registry preventing it. Thanks. The location is around here (more or less):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common

I was going to say there is a toggle (ctrl-F1 I think) that minimizes the appearance of the ribbon. I thought you might need that.

No, the ribbon was there, but was not loading my customizations. The key in the registry was pretty clear about what it was doing based on the value of the key. I changed the key from 1 to 0 and it works as expected now. Thanks.
