Hi,
I've been working with Microsoft Access 2010 for about 4 months. In a prior life, I lived near San Jose, CA and worked on development of IBM's DB2 SQL product for mainframes. I now live in Prescott AZ. We're Arizona's mile high city (actually 5300 ft - but who's counting) so the weather is 20 degrees cooler than what you usually hear from Arizona.
The project that brought me to Access involves merging 5 or 6 independent "databases" into one unified, normalized and easily maintained whole. I'm making extensive use of Referential Integrity, Cascaded Updates, NO Cascaded Deletes, Updatable Queries, and Forms to run one or more queries. The features I used forced an upgrade to Office 2010 for the whole organization.
I'm very happy to see how Outer Join has been implemented in the graphical query builder. For other SQL features, like DISTINCT, I can't find a graphical method to input and I can't see that the graphical representation changes when I add DISTINCT to the SQL query. (I'm following this forums rules - this isn't a question - just an observation.
