Searching for empties

Hi all.
I've got a query that needs to look for empty blocks that normally contain a date. In the macro designer, I'm using:
Field: Expiration Date
Table: Training
Sort:
Show: Check
Criteria: ????????

I've been trying to use nul, or empty for criteris but I get a type mismatch. What should I be using.
