Hi All,

Here's my problem...
I have a DB (DB1) and a workgroup (WG1.mdw) and a bush of users with different levels of access .

At the minute users have a shortcut set up on their desktops, which bring them though the workgroup and they sign in with username and password.

Just wondering is there a way to set no permissions for anyone who goes straight to the MDB/MDE with out using the workgroup

Cheers

in short no. In order to open a secured db with a click a user has to join the workgroup first.

Elfman, if you are saying that if a user click on the database and access it without any login, then it's *NOT* secured properly.

Go to FAQ subforum on here, look for "How I Use User Level Security" to get a guide which explains why and how to do this.
