One of my users keeps getting the following message when he opens an Access file:

"Security Warning: Unsafe expressions are not blocked
Do you want to block unsafe expressions?"

My question is, how can he turn off this warning? It is filling up a message log on his PC and since the .mdb's he's opening are all in-house databases, we don't need to have this warning displaying all the time.

If anyone can tell me how to turn this off, I would be grateful. Thank you!!

Access 2003 has more security [macro levels] for you to deal with. You can do it all for the user with code. That message is in regards to the Sandbox mode. Search around and key my user name [to limit your search] and you will find the stuff I have posted on how neutralize the Access 2003 security warnings.

gHudson,

Thanks!! What the heck is sandbox mode???? I thought a sandbox was something a cat used!;) I'll do as suggested and see what I can dig up.

I appreciate it!

gHudson,

Thanks for your quick reply! By setting Macro security to low and tweaking the sandbox mode, will messages still get written to a log on the user's PC? We want to stop log writing for each time this user goes into an .mdb.

I appreciate your repsonse, and so quickly! Think I'll name his project Kitty, in regard to the sandbox thing.

Where is this log file that you are referring too? I am not aware of any log file that Windows XP keeps track of for every .mdb file that is opened.

Your'e right....the log I'm referring to is in Computer Management, in the Event Viwer, and then in the Application and Security Logs. It looked like it was Access that was putting an entry of some type in these logs every time an .mdb was openeed. However, it turned out that another piece of software on the user's PC was creating those entries. It wasn't Access at all! It took several hours to figure out where the log entries were coming from.

In any case, I appreciate your replies and your advise/suggestions about the Macro/Security/Low - type settings -- that will come in handy in other situations.

Thanks for your responses and for your help. It's nice to know there are good people out there!
