serial cash drawer with kick back interface

does anyone know how to get a serial cash drawer with kick back interface to open through Access?
any help or a point in the right direction will be hugely appreciated

If windows then I would try defining a serial printer on that port and then from Access send it a Bell code (^G) Chr(07) Windows will need to set up the Baud Rate. I would try 9600 or 19200.
