YES!! You saw CORRECTLY!! The problem is FIXED!!
Now that I think back, all, now 5, systems had fresh installs of Office 97.
THE FIX: Previous to this message, WindSailor suggested to update my version of Microsoft Jet. Now I'm not sure if this is what actually solved the problem, BUT along the way I had to have the SR-2b patch installed, in order to upgrade Jet. And THAT DID IT!
I just ran the SR-2B patch ... AND TTaaaa DDDaaaaaa !!
I want to thank EVERYONE very much for taking the time to read through the post, run the test UpdateError.mdb and for sending all the documentation my way. You guys are fantastic, really !
