I looked through the recent posts but haven't seen anything. I am getting very slow response - 45 seconds or more - when following a link that is clearly within the AWF site. Such as opening the "Recent Posts" page and picking a recent post. I checked and there were only about half-a-dozen people logged in. I used the Windows Task Manager to check my machine's load and the network performance load, but both of those appeared normal. As further tests, I tried several other sites that I sometimes visit for news and they were not particularly slow - at least no slower than normal.

EDIT: One additional observation - when I posted the unedited version of this I got a yellow bar racing across the top of the screen with three short vertical bars flashing when the horizontal bar reached their position. Took about 25-30 seconds to post even though low numbers of logins at the time.

Is anything going on with the site that anyone else knows about?
Is my observation isolated?

I do not even know where Recent Posts is, but all the others work fine for me.
I know what you are saying about the the yellow bar, I have had that in the past.

Best I can offer, is perhaps trying to clear cache.
Alternatively, I try another browser like Firefox. if that works fine, then I know Chrome is at fault. I have found several sites, where I have to switch to Firefox to get the correct functionality on that site.

I don't see "Recent Posts" either, there is a "New Posts". No delay for me.

Bad choice of words.... "New Posts" was one of the culprits.

I have cleared the cache, but no joy. But other sites don't have the problem. Like YouTube, for example.

I have had that yellow bar going across a good few time when using my phone in the past. However, not for a while now.
How about another browser?

I've been busy, so I haven't been here much of late, but I don't appear to have any problems :). Yet;).

My first visit this morning was painfully slow. Subsequently, performance returned to normal.
Is it something to do with caching behavior of browsers?

I cleared my cache and still got slowness for a couple of days - until this morning, when it seems faster.

EDIT BY TDM: At least, until I tried to save the post - at which time I got the flashing yellow bars for about 45 seconds.

@Doc, have you tried disabling your anti-virus temporarily?

Otherwise, a reboot of your router is worth a try, and also trying other DNS providers if you are using ISP provided DNS (eg Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 or Google 8.8.8.8)

Your @ Doc goes to the wrong member I think, FYI. no big deal, just happened to notice.

Oops! 😬

Cheers, Isaac! (y)

Probably too late now that an edit will have no effect, (ie notification to wrong member will already have been sent), so I'll leave it as is. 🤪
