Our rates increase double digit percentage points every year. The least expensive renewal we have ever had was 14%. I currently cannot afford my company's health insurance so I am on a state plan for myself and my daughter which is actually better health coverage than my employer's plan.
I think this move is a step in the right direction.
I agree. I work for a hospital and I have seen our rates go up and up and up. 10ish years ago, the employees of the hospital received free medical care. Now, that same care for a family is ~$400/month. I know $400/month might not seem like much to someone not in a group plan paying $800+/month, but going from 0 10 years ago to $400 now is scary.
It got so bad that they introduced a cheaper plan that is more use-oriented. It has saved me a lot of money, but the way it does so is by convincing you not to go to the doctor. If you know the doctor visit is going to cost you $300, you're only going to go if it is something very serious.

Let me know if you find out more, as all I have to go on is media and we all know how much we can trust them.
No offense, but I think you should have done a bit more research before you made this thread. There's nothing wrong with wanting to complain about the Supreme Court ruling if you do not like it, but as you only made claims and assertions and did not back them up with any evidence, I have to assume there are many inaccuracies in your claims.
You say you only have the media to go on, but that is not true, you can read the exact language of the act online
here. I know it is very onerous to try to find answers in such a technical and lengthy document, but listening to commentators spew their hatred about it and then further spreading that misinformation contributes to the problem.
FWIW, I don't recall hearing or reading anything about reductions in veterans health benefits as part of the ACA, and I can't imagine any politician suggesting such as it would be political suicide. Most arguments floating around start with "Nothing will change for people 60 or older", or some other age that is around 60.
