A guy I know has a batch file set up that downloads a data file daily via FTP.
Last week he got a virus and brought it into Geek Squad. Something they did suddenly has blocked the download of the file via the batch file FTP.
I temporarily removed the anti virus they installed, Windows firewall is not enabled, I reset all IE internet options to default security, I checked all programs running on startup and I don't see anything suspicious, but the batch file still just sits there and does nothing after connecting to the server. The file it attempts to download appears on his computer but it never gets beyond 0 KB.
It would appear that something is blocking the FTP. I have the computer here and I can download the file just fine on my computer but not on his.
Any ideas on what to look for would be helpful.
Thanks
