Speeding Up Over A network

Just installed a database over a Network supported by a server, but the customer complains that it starts to run slow evry so often.

The Network is a hard wired. 100mbps system running Windows Small Business

The database is currenty 16.2 MB

I have already implemented the following

The program automatically compacts on exit every time, but I just wondered if anyone had any further suggestions??

Is the db split FE/BE? (This makes a huge difference)
Are your form's recordsources based on tables or Querydefs with strict criteria?
How many users are accessing?

These are some of the questions that need to be answered before you can really delve into the reason for the slow down... I would suggest seaching this forum for keywords such as "performance" and "improve performace tips" as there have been many posts on this topic.
