Hey everyone!

I'm new here because I need some help in Access. Hopefully you guys can help! I know there has prolly been a program or too for a small business to track its buying, selling, profit/loss, etc. Now, I would like to do this with my sports cards in Access. I sell sports cards online and I would like to create a database that will track what I'm buying, how much I bought it for, what I need to sell it for a profit, etc. I was trying to do this in Excel, but a few people recommended Access to me because I could basically do everything that I wanted all in one place. I have a bit of experience, but not enough to start from scratch and build it so hopefully you guys can help me get started!
thanks,
brady boese

Somebody else was building a "game card" database (I think something like Yu-Gi-Oh) within the last couple of months. You could search here on that and PM the person doing it.

ok cool thanks! stil welcoming all tips and suggestions

For the most parts, this is just a regular retail type application. You should look at the Northwind Traders database template that comes with Access. Surely you could customize that a lot more easily than just about anything else.

where do I find that Northwind Traders database? I use the 2003 one.
that sounds like a good idea though....
thanks,
brady

I don't have access to a 2003 instance right now but I believe that if you create a new database, you'll probably find the Northwind sample as a template (or so it goes in 2007). Since I really have very little interest in Northwind, I don't really mess with the templates.

In Access 2003 go to HELP and then SAMPLES and then you can select the NWT sample. In Access 2007, it is under the templates area on the main screen.
