I am after a little guidance.
I am creating a database for someone and for the first time I am being asked to provide functionality that will allow the storage of documents and images such as CV/Resume, scanned ID documents.
Now I know its a bad idea to store the images directly to the table with the new Access 2007+ attachment control because of the 2gb limit Access has built also the documentation on the control doesn't assist in getting the answers I need.
The best way, or at least in my mind is to store the files in a place that the database can access them and then reference a link to it or something....
I need to be able to select a file from the local drive, maybe name is as CV, ID etc etc then save to centralised area and add reference to it in a listbox relevant to the candidate.
The users then need to be able to open them.
Can some provide example code for me to adapt and learn from or give me some pointers?
