Hi guys,

I know it's a Sunday and all :p

A mate of mine has recently been building a website. For this site he plans to run a prediction tournament for his subscribers. I'd like to think I was reasonably well versed on normalisation but this is pretty complicated from what I can gather. We were thinking about a table structure for this.

The data is comprised of:

A set of leagues, each league has many teams.

A customer/account table for people entering the tournament.

Each team will have many fixtures - most in that specific league with cup games played against a variety of teams from various other leagues. This will probably require another child table of "game type" i.e. regular league, FA cup, League Cup, European, Charity Shield and so on.

Each team also obviously has many players, some of whom may well move to other clubs within any of the leagues or may move away from those in the competition completely i.e. move to Spain to ply their trade.

A predictions table for each fixtures from each person participating.

We roughed out the league/teams part but got stuck with the rest of it. I'm assuming we need a couple of many-many relationships with the fixtures and the predictions part.

Does anybody have any advice to offer? All thoughts/comments appreciated.
