I've been designing a db and entering data in the process. Now I'm almost done with this project and other people are interested in this db. Is there a way to empty all table records? Is there a command to have a blank db?
My db has almost 5,000 records :S and each record has another table with 5 linked records
so there are like 25,000 records to delete. I know there is a way and its to create another table with the same fields and importing the rest of the objects... but I want to make there is no other way.

Another Q is how to add security to my db how to "attach" the db to a hardware of a computer so if the db is installed on another computer it asks for a serial number...I have asked this before but no one had answer me this.
Thanks in advanced

You can just create Delete queries to delete you records. If you have referential intergrity and Cascade deletes enforced on you relationships, when you delete a parent record all child records are deleted also.

As for protecting your db from being installed on on machine I don't think that there is a full proof way of protecting the installation writes ( with just Access anyways). I have heard people claim they have a way to do so but there is usually some way to get around it. I am not saying that it is impossible but I have never seen it done.

well I don't think that the people who will use the db know much about computer, so they won't be insisting too much on cracking the db... but at least how to create the entering unlocking number?

I use KeyedAccess from Peters Software, great tool for doing exactly what you want, £200.00 but well worth the money in my opinion.

I was planning on buying that but the past version had a tremendous bug that could be hacked... so for now I do not feel confident with that tool...
if he offers a refund for my losses I could buy it... but for now, no... so far is the best tool I've seen but reading about the versions no way for now

Whats the bug you have seen? My view is if someone wants to pirate they have to be very good and is any software safe against the determined hacker. I am just trying to make it as difficult as poss, the level of computer savy of my potential users is not that advanced and for my first effort at this

I am prepared to give it a go on the basis that more will pay than hack. Stupid of me no doubt.

I understand the part of the potential users, but you have to take care of the ones who's watching your applications to make easy money.. thats why you see an adobe application installed on every computer.... not because of the potential users, but the ones who post the cracked application for your potential users

Point taken, but if Adobe and Microsoft have problems what chance have the rest of us mortals. The onl;y other sanction I have is the usres in my particular industry have to be registered with a very pwerful government body and as such are suposed to be ultra professional, hacking and pirating are seen a unprofessional, so they could be struck off and lose their livelyhood.
