Hi

I am trying to create an Exec Summary of our earnings data

Each report is grouped by Servicer.

The Report needs to show overall totals etc budget client and then I was looking at two sub-reports;

1. Top 10 better than budget.
2. Top 10 worse than budget.

I have a query that displays the top 10 however I have no idea how to get the top 10 for a group working on the report.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Cheers

Rob

Whatever field determins their rank needs to be sorted ascending for top 10. Then sort descending and again use top 10. Your first query would be Qry-Top10, the letter Qry-Bottom10. Use these different recordsources in your main report.

Re: Sub Report with a Top (and bottom) 10

Thanks for the prompt response.

And Forgive me if I have the process wrong.

1. Create Primary Table - all data - Done
2. Create Query Qry_Top10 - Done
3. Create Query Qry_Low10 - Done
4. Create Sub-Report - Top10 - Done
5. Create Report - Grouped by Servicer (Salesman)
6. Insert Sub-Report (Just Top10) related to Servicer.

I only get 1 or 2 records in the sub-report for each salesman. Total subreport is 10 records, I want to show 10 records per salesman so if I have 50 salesman I get 500 records.

What did I do wrong.

Cheers,

Rob

You need to group by salesman in your query and go to the properties of each query and select Top 10

But thats exactly what I have done....

Sub Report woks fine moment I drop it onto main report.... curtains.

I have the similar problem: I need to make many Queries and Report for 5 branches, 45 sub-branches and 3 segment with top 10 and bottom 10 items, which means 45 x 3 x 2 = 270 different queries, wowww
I created Query based on proposed solution from:
http: //en.allexperts.com/q/Using-MS-Access-1440/compare-data-tables.ht m
Which works fine until I figure out that I would needed 270 different queries
because:
I first created 1 total queri (with all 45 sub-branches and 3 segment and all data) and because I need to list top 10 and bottom 10 clients for each of single sub-branch and each segment, basicly it should be much easier but I have no idea how

Is there any ways to done this work with less queries?
thx
