Sums within a text box (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can assist with a problem I am having.

I have an Access D/B with a table called "Breakdown Data", within this table are various fields called:-

Downtime_Start (Short Time)
Lost_Hours (Short Time)
Downtime_End (Short Time)

These fields are represented on a Form called "Breakdown Data Entry Form", my problem is that I need the Downtime_End text box to calculate the following and then record it in the table:

[Downtime_Start]+[Lost_Hours]

Somehow I cant get the recordsource to place the value of the sum in the table?

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply PBaldy,

Have looked at the link you posted but didn't work I'm afraid, I can get the sum to work by typing:

=[Downtime_Start]+[Lost_Hours]

in the "Downtime_End" text box but i seem to lose the control source as the resulting data doesn't get stored in the table.
