Tarrifs

When my sister in law miscarried she went in for the D&C and she could barely speak she was so upset and crying hysterically. When the tech was doing the ultrasound before the procedure she asked "who told you you had a miscarriage?" She responded "I saw it" The tech said "I don't think I'm supposed to say anything to you but there are 2 more babies in there." It was quite the happy ending after a miserable week.

I assume that Pat and other Trump supporters are cheering the dock strike and thanking the ILA for protecting us from cheap imports. They can tell me how much their standard of living improves now that they will have to pay more.

Maybe they are striking because wages have not kept up with Joes Kamala's inflation?

Their wages have kept up and more. They are striking to stop automation.

Please name the specific policy of Joe Biden that caused inflation. The first two COVID stimulus bills were signed under Trump and were in total larger the Biden's COVID stimulus bill.

I think that Biden's stimulus bill was a mistake, as the economy was already recovering. But the debt rung up in the COVID bills was always going to be paid for with inflation. How did you expect it to be paid for? TANSTAAFL (There ain't no such thing as a free lunch).

the gigantic spending bills under Trump were necessary. those under biden weren't. both are likely to cause inflation.
pretty simple.

Yes, as both caused inflation we should view the spurt in inflation as being the "Trump-Biden" inflation. The third stimulus bill probably did speed the recovery, but the cost in inflation was greater than the benefit.

As for the future, Trump's plans involve greater deficits than Harris's plans (because he has promised more tax cuts). Also tariffs would increase price levels more directly. If you primary concern is inflation, you should logically support Harris.

If that is true, then those fools are dumber than I thought. Advancements in automation is part of the future of manufacturing and industry in general and if they can't read the writing on the wall, they deserve what their going to get. No amount of striking is going to get rid of automation and it shouldn't. Wage increases is normal and there are reasonable percentages for that, but what they are asking is so far out of line with reality. Get prepared for the long haul to be without many supplies.

There is spending that is necessary and most that is not necessary. If you don't have the money to support it, then don't spend it. The inflation is a direct result of printing money we don't have to pay for unnecessary crap like a 3.5 Trillion dollar bill. Take a look at that debt clock again today.

Unless you were born yesterday and forgot how great the economy was under Trump, then the only way anyone would ever vote for that air head is because you like getting screwed over and over again. The biggest screw being the influx of millions of illegal's and going so far as to say that border crossings are down while simultaneously flying them over the border as if nothing ever happened. Don't be a fool.

I don't, because I don't vote based on a single person, I vote based on the direction of the country generally under the direction or control of a particular party. I think if Trump is proved wrong on tariffs, he will reverse them. But if the Democrats control and continue their typical approach of solving all problems by printing money or raising taxes and spending more money, there will be no reversal. One is safer than the other.

He didn't reverse tariffs he already authorized. Spending went up plenty under Trump even before COVID. Remember that 80% of the Federal budget is Social Security, Medicare and Defense. If you are talking about spending less in those areas, you are not seriously talking about cutting government spending. Trump and the Republican party have made it clear they plan deal with deficits by cutting taxes. Your choice is Borrow-and-Spend vs Tax-and-Spend.

Automation is part of it, but the union cites wages also...

"More than 45,000 International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) members from over three dozen facilities across 14 Gulf and East Coast ports went on strike early Tuesday, marking the largest labor action at US ports in nearly 50 years. The labor action, driven by disputes over automation and wages in a new multi-year labor contract, threatens to disrupt supply chains nationwide. If the strike persists for more than a week, retailers could face shortages of certain goods (read: here), potentially sparking another wave of inflation."

BTW, a new round of inflation sparked by a Longshoremen strike won't bode well for the incumbents. The left eating the left is never a bad thing.;)

His executive order on his first day of office to shut down the pipe lines. Plus additional pipe lines he shut down. Higher fuel costs force other prices to go up.

Both sides spend too much, but one side is spending us into oblivion. Remember when Trump wanted to build the wall there was no funding available for that. Now we have the wide open border policy and flyem-in policy of the current corrupt administration that the majority of us are fed up with and are ready to boot this incompetence out while they scream about how unfair the election was. Can't wait to see the looks on their faces and all the kicking and squirming. Time for the midnight flyem-out policy to begin.

When Nancy Pelosi is asked about her insider trading and ability to get in on IPO's the public cannot, she flat out denies it. The corruption is deep and wide with this bunch.

Maybe we'll all have our own personal slaves assistants. When we lived in Kuwait, . . . . We had one at work that washed our car every day). We would hire one for 1 dinar (~ $2.50) and he would follow us around for a few hours and carry anything we bought.
Oh you poor dear, it must have been awful for you having to carry your own shopping. I bet you were relieved when you hired your slave to carry stuff. Was that their only job? or had they another job on the side like your other home employees.

I'll tell you what I want, we're thinking if all goes well the rest of this year, we may start hiring someone to do some twice a month cooking and cleaning at our house. That would be nice! I've never done that before.

Wrong, we can cut out the dumb stuff that government pays for, or the things it already pays too much for. Rand Paul has a great list.

Then why are they asking for a 70% wage increase?

Either their wages have not kept up, or they are greedy, lazy and coercing as unions usually are.

Does Rand Paul's list include Social Security, Medicare and Defense? He never seems to talk about cutting significant government programs.
