Tea?

I don't know... All we have over here these days are jap cars...

Seems like a rather obvious answer - ? 24hrs, avg 50mph, = 12-13 hundred miles - ?

I suppose, if you drive 50mph.

Of course, since I also said 1300 miles, I guess I factored in rest breaks etc. which would probably bring your average down to 50...

Are you what we would refer to as a girl racer?

No, not really. :o

Hubby's got more of a lead foot than I do when we're on the highway. :D

But we see films where the cops are everywhere and speed violaters are thrown in jail to end up violated themselves by the local sheriff ;)

Yes, and since you've learned everything you need to know from TV/movies, then we all know this to be true. :D

So if 24hrs = 1300 miles and that hits the coast and beyond, the song (24hrs from Tulsa) is actually a fabrication of the truth. Gene Pitney should be sued under the trade descriptions act.

Who would have thought that an American would have exaggerated the truth - amazing. . . . . .

Col

How about if he was driving from South America - would that fit in the 1300 mile range?

No forget it - he would have at least 12 hrs at the Mexico border where the customs control would be convinced he was an illegal immigrant.

I suppose so, provided you are capable of driving for 24 hours without stopping for rest.

If you want to get very technical about it, Mapquest shows distance from Tulsa to Los Angeles, CA at 1437.46 miles, distance from Tulsa to Miami, FL is 1392.26 miles, distance from Tulsa to Portland, Maine is 1688.37 miles, distance from Tulsa to Seattle, WA is 2016.41 miles. There you have the 4 corners, or as close as I'm going to get to it.

Gene Pitney should be sued under the trade descriptions act.

If you're that serious about it, then go for it.

Who would have thought that an American would have exaggerated the truth - amazing. . . . . .

Who would have thought that Col would make yet another sarcastic but pointless generalization about Americans - amazing. . . . .

Burk Reynolds did:cool::p

Burk?;)

Yet another instance of art imitating life, I'm sure, since everyone over here drives sports cars like maniacs all the time. :D

I'm sure Col will have something to say about how it must be true because it's been in a movie, or that Americans exaggerate things. :)

A couple years ago, my father drove 28 hours straight from Florida to Wisconsin. We even stopped to eat when we got there before arriving at our destination.

Yikes. Was he taking No-Doze? :D
