The incident Rich speaks of is a different one. A few years ago, we lost thousand upon thousands of posts due to a hacker. I used to be over 10,000...

It would just be nice to run some native sql against the database to confirm what is what. There could be far more that is recoverable than we think.

That would appear to be the case for Watercooler and Political.

Well it shouldn't. Everyone should be able to post in these forums as long as they adhere to the guidelines set out by the owner of the site.

But for some reason posters who have problems with some threads/posts in the WC and PF forums appear to be attracted like iron filings to a magnet. Of course that is not unique to this site.

In fact what is interesting is that threads that are deemed offensive by some posters are kept going by the very same posters

I don't deny the ones who magnetize these threads are quite skilled.

It would be nice, but the posts are entirely gone, not just broken. There were so many good threads from the old days too.
