Hi,

I have hit a brick wall with my A-Level Access Project. Basically, I have a form for ordering where a user can select items from a combo box linked to a table that contains products. They then select the quantity and a subtotal is calculated for that particular item(s). By that I mean the subtotal generated is only for one selection from the combo box. Any subsequent selections have their own subtotals generated afterwards (I hope I'm not being too vague).
This is the form I am talking about:

The thing I am having trouble with is the final box; "Order Total". I have no idea how to set it to sum all of the above Subtotals to equal an overall total. I will send anyone willing to help a copy of the database via email or something if they need it.

I would be immensely grateful for any help you can give.

Thanks,
Adam

Well I kind of tried what I found in those links but I don't really understand.

Is it possible to do what I want to do? The circled box is where I want to enter a formula... I just don't know the formula I need! My Access knowledge is very limited I'm afraid.

It's almost certainly possible. From the limited view of the situation provided by your screen shots, a specific answer is impossible. We can't see the entire calculation in Price or in the total.

You can't refer to a control on the form in your Sum() control. Basically you either have to recreate the calculation in the control(s) to be summed, or push that calculation to the query behind the form/report, so the sum can be more easily done on the form. A sample db would make it a lot easier for someone to help you. At the least, post the full contents of those controls.

Ive done something similar in one of my University Projects a couple of years ago. Email me the database and I'll have a go!
