You should look at the reports on China by Chris Chappell and his YouTube series
China Uncensored. He's not the only person exposing the grave weaknesses that are showing up in the PRC because at least three or four other sources are showing the severe cracks in the Chinese hold over their population. YouTube also hosts a series called
China Observer which has addressed their population issues. If you bother to look, you might find some interesting viewpoints that don't match yours. But then again, you might wish to ignore something that suggests your views are wrong.
China is losing to itself.
Their birth rate has tanked because the population sustainment rate is 2.2 (give or take a few percent) children per family but it is now verging at 1.0 or less than 1. In a generation, their birth rate will be less than half of its rate 20 years ago. See this article:
Their worker/age demographic has tanked because their one-child-per-family action of a couple of decades ago pre-trimmed the workers in the generation that SHOULD be (but is not) filling the 40-50-year-old range, and their 60-70-year-old range is dying out. (Even China can't get work out of a dead horse.) Not only that, but because Chinese families wanted boys (to support the parents in their old age) thus leading to abortions for girls, there was a gap in marriage-eligible fertile females.
Their internal real-estate economy has tanked because they did a Ponzi scheme on themselves to finance high-rise housing for their population, but that bubble burst before anyone COULD move in, and now there is nothing to move into. The builders didn't have enough money to finish the buildings. Some of those buildings, because they were incomplete, have collapsed.
Their infrastructure (roads, bridges, dams) is in the process of tanking because of graft, corruption, and shoddy materials. They've lost several major highways and a couple of massive bridges. Also, a couple of lesser dams failed. Here's one recent article on a bridge collapse, discussing their "tofu-dreg" steel that doesn't have the strength it needs due to shoddy structural materials.
Their current generation of young adults has lost hope of ever getting ahead in the Chinese economic environment so they have gone "on the dole" and are doing the least work possible to still get government support. See this article:
I see different things than you do. Go worry about China, but right now INDIA is the Earth nation with the highest population. I have now given you some alternate sources that might affect your view of China's threat.
