I am placing a database from a company we acquired onto a Windows 2003 server. We will use this server for only a few months until we can rewrite this database from scratch.

I need to set this network location as a trusted location. I have checked "Allow Trusted Locations on my network." I cannot ad my Y: drive (link to directory on server). I am told "The path you have entered cannot be used as a Trust Location for security reasons."

However can I make a location on this server a trusted location? We need to allow for multiple users (around 4) access to this database. With the current setup it cannot run the macros it should run on startup.

OK, I figured this one out but it seems to keep a large security door open instead of allowing me to provide macro access to a single document.

Typically the Windows TRUST models are broad-brush. Therefore, your observation is not at all wrong.
