hii i am new to access.. was trying to make a primary key usinmg 2 feilds.. its showing a problem that null isnt allowed.. i compacted the file.. even then its not working plz help

There isn't a problem. It's just that you can't have a null in a primary key. Do you really need a compound PK?

I am assuming that you chose a compound PK because the fields do not need to be independently unique, but will be unique when they are combined.

The error indicates that you have at least one record where BOTH OF THE KEYS have a NULL value, and as has been previously stated, a PK may not have a NULL value.

Locate the record(s) with NULL Value(s) and determine if they can be updated. If they can, this problem should go away. Good luck
