I have a W10 laptop on which I run my Access-based application, but it is several years old and running very slowly and I have acquired a new laptop running W11. In the past, on transferring the application to a new PC, I have simply transferred the appropriate .dll and .ocx files into the relevant system folders and referenced them, but my new PC is not recognising the files. I realised they could have been corrupted, but I am wondering if this is defensive. Is there a way around it? Advice would be very gratefully received. Thank you.

If you just copied the files, that is not always enough. You need to re-register the libraries. If you are using Access Runtime, it is possible that the libraries have not been correctly linked by simply copying them.

Here is an article that might help. Since you didn't identify a specific problem, I cannot narrow it down closer than this.

Thank you. That's very helpful. I'll work through the suggestions and repost if I don't manage to fix the problem.
