Well I am a Christian but not fighting back is something that is so hard for me to grasp. I know one of the verses I've read goes something like "in as much as a man will let you, live peaceably." That sort of sounds like I'm not to start anything but at the same time it doesn't mean I have to take whatever someone chooses to do. Tough subject, for me. Your right though. Jesus never raised one defensive hand. They beat Him beyond recognition. Nailed Him to a tree and He never "defended" Himself for one minute.

Enough of the name calling and personal attacks. This forum is supposed to be open for intelligent and supportive debate. How can you make a point in your arguments when you can't refrain from such acts? Once again, thanks for taking time to answer. First of all, congrads on getting married. I've just been curious to ask but really didn't know how to go about it without it stirring up a big dust cloud and it being off topic in no time. I've read quite abit on church history (mostly British authors ) and have been curious to how Britian feels about it today. It seems the majority of folks that I have met, from Britian, either believe little about a God or do not believe in one at all. This seems some what ironic to me cause Britian, especially England, sent more missionaries out, than any country in history, at one point in time.

where i'm from (east coast of scotland) church is not really a big thing, although i did go to church as a kid, well, sunday school before my parents got pi**ed off with the hipocrasy of certain members of the congregation. i have a few mates of my age (just hit/hitting 30 ) who are regular church goers. on the west of scotland it is a different mattter - it is much more religous and if you go to the islands (inner/outer hebrides) and the west coast people are much more religous.....indeed half the islands/west coast are shut on a sunday and i'm pretty sure the sale of prophylactics is banned.

as for myself, i prefer to spend sundays recovering from the saturday rugby match....the older i get the longer it takes to get over the pain!
