I am trying to copy a form from an accdb database to an mdb database. The form copies fine but when I open the form in Design view, the Web Browser Control is not there. When I try to copy the WBC over from the accdb to the mdb, an error message shows that says "The Web Browser Control is not available in a report or a continuous form". (My form is a Single Form) The WBC also does not show in the Design tab.

Does anyone know if WBC's are not available in MDB or how to add a WBC to the form?

I just created a blank mdb and the control added to the form just fine. If you plan on distributing this to different users, active x controls can be a big pain. You should avoid using them.

Can you offer up any other suggestions to embed a web page into an MDB form?

Yes! They are tempting to use, but not every machine has the activex component you want to use. I learned that that hard way trying to use the treeview control. It's hard enough to resolve Access compatibility issues, why add to the headache? (Why oh why does 2010 not have it's own extension???)

This is the reason why I have moved more towards web design. It takes way longer to make, but it is easier to make work on different machines. Plus, people inevitable want to bring their data online. I think Access only makes sense on single user or very limited multi-user installations. If you can't tell, I'm not quite the fan boy that I used to be for Access.

Though it is an excellent tool for learning how to code. I think it is the best place to start. It's also a great tool for the query builder. Connecting Access to the MySQL ODBC makes writing PHP so much easier.

Sorry for the rant.
