What happened to the "Where is Mike375" thread

There was a thread here yesterday asking where Mike375 has got to - an innocent question I felt.

Mr Larson replied - sort of to the original question but also by calling another member (who did reply) an "a$$hole".
Obviously I commented that I thought it was against forum rules to launch a personal attack on another member (this is not the first time Mr Larson has done this) - especially as Mr Larson is quick to ban anyone who dares breach not only forum rules, but imaginary rules as well.

I reported the post, but have heard no more. Has anyone any ideas?. . . . . . quickly now because this will be deleted too for no real reason other than it dares mention the godlike name of his Lordship Mr Larson.

I can only imagine that, as you were kind enough to report the thread, it was removed before other members of the forum became equally as offended by its content. That said, why was the thread opened in the first place? has something happened to Mike?

So if you report a thread, does it automatically get deleted? And what punishment should the person get for calling another member rude names? Normal people would be banned maybe for a month or so.

Obviously nothing will happen though in this case, some people are above the rules.

Maybe one of the other mods could decide - like Mile-O or DC.

It was I who deleted the thread to which you refer, as it added nothing to the forum. The moderating cohort is currently considering what sanctions, if any, will be applied. Any sanctions will be applied equally to ALL participants in said thread, without fear or favour.

I am now going to lock this thread. ANY user feeling the need to resurrect or start new threads of this nature, will earn themselves a instant and permanent IP ban. No correspondence will be entered into on this matter.

Let me just add that as far as I can see, he's not banned. I'm sure he just grew tired of being around and decided to take a leave like so many other members have over the years.
