How have you set up this forum? To view as a threaded view or as a flat list?

Poll is attached.

if not mistaken the default is linear (older first).

Assuming the 'flat list' is the same as 'linear', that's what I use. Thanks...

(Why couldn't he have just said that???)

To see which setting you are using you have to click the User CP link in the top left corner and then select the Edit Options link and page down to the bottom to the Thread Display Mode.

I am assuming that the "Flat" view is the same as the "Linear" view.

I use the Linear - Oldest First option.

If most people are using Flat (linear) I will enable the Quick Reply box at the bottom of threads so that you can just type in your answer without having to click Reply.

If some people use the threaded view, it means enabling the Quick Reply without a click may mess up future threaded views.

Is it worth the risk? I do not mind clicking the Post Reply but when needed.

I just wish the forum would not be so SLOW during peak times throughout the day.

If hardly anyone uses the threaded views, then I think on balance it will be more useful than not to the vast majority here.

Ditto the slow part...

Can you set each forum's to show, by default, more than 2 days worth of threads? It makes some forums looks extremely empty.

Another idea may be to switch on the show similar threads option - ideal for finding technical help.

I will look at both of those options.

Due to popular demand (yeah, right!) I have enabled Quick Reply. Threaded view will no longer be so useful but answering threads is now faster!

Hope you like it. :D

I've also removed the Adsense from the top of the screen. Who knows, we may even get a proper logo in there one of these days!

Cool. Thanks.

I've seen this feature enabled in other forums, and i agree with SJ, that it is a useful feature.

Having the quick reply enabled saves us some mouse clicking :D ... thanks!

Ok, will implement this for you.
