I am developing a small app for a client and the main engine will be MS Access with the .mdb on their server - they run SBS2003. There is one admin PC with MS Access on it so I have located the FE there. There are two other people who need to see live information but do not have Access on their systems. Ideally they would be able to update information as well.
Rather than incurring the cost of upgrading them to Office Pro I had wondered whether I could use Data Access Pages to integrate with Sharepoint (although since DAP phased out in ACC2007 might not be too bright a route), or alternatively see if I could create ASP on the company website that would connect to the Access backend so they could simply use IE.
Rather than reinvent wheels I wondered if any of you guys had done anything similar and if so, which was the easiest and/or most effective.
Look forward to seeing if a solution is within my reach.
Thanks and best wishes

Hi Malcy,

What version of Access do you have on the Admin PC?

Hi Garry
ACC2003

I was going to sugest that you just install Access runtime on other PCs that you want to view update the information. However, the developer extentions that are needed to use runtime are not free in Access 2003, they are free on 97, 2000, 2007. To get them for 2003 you have to buy Visual studio 2005 or similar (bit pricy).
You could either buy 2007 and convert your application up or approach a DB devloper with a donation and ask if they could assist with the runtime licences.
