why some can some can't open shared db that's open?

Hi,

I have noticed that on our network, certain people can open an Access db that is already open by another person, yet some cannot.
We are using the same shortcut (to the mdb file) and all have the same windows read/write permissions.

I can only think it is some setting in Access?

Can anyone help point me along the right path?

Check whether everyone has joined the same workgroup. if the shortcut does not include a -wkgrp xxxx reference, you might have some people using the default workgroup - which further indicates incomplete security setup.
