World Cup 2014

Well it may all be over for us in 3 days time!

I still think we will go through.

Though, I think I just read that only 4 teams ever, have progressed after losing the opener.

Well if we lose to the Uruguayans then it is all over and the fat lady would have well and truly sung her heart out...

Italy could win all 3, each of the others just wins one -

Say Uruguay beat Us
We beat Cost Rica.
Cost Rica already beat Uruguay.

That 3 points each in second, and they cant be separated on head to heads - I presume at that point it goes to goal difference?

Yeah goes down to Goal Difference then.

Did anybody see the Brazil vs Mexico match and the Russia vs South Korea match?

I thought both Brazil and Russia looked pretty poor, and did not play too well... Russia of course is being coached by Fabio Cappello, England old coach, he made an absolute hash in the last world cup with us, based on Russia's performance it doesn't look like he has improved his coaching skills..

Shock result last night as the holders Spain crashed out of the competition.... seems it's not only their economy that is fu*ked

Oh Dear... Oh Dear.... Oh Dear...

So now the England team is relying on the Italians to beat both Costa Rica, and Uruguay, and then for England to go and beat Costa Rica....

Based on England boys performance, they couldn't beat a Costa Coffee XI ...

Is Danny Welbeck, George Weah's cousin?

Germany always play as a team and perform well in the championships , but I doubt that any Northern European team will perform exceptionally in the heat and humidity of Brazil.

Brian

The heat and humidity trumpeted in the UK press seems to have been a preemptive excuse for the English failure. Germany are deserved winners of an exciting final even if it did cost my daughter £40 in her office sweep.
