What happened to Adam?

"Couldn't be like it." is not normal English. "Couldn't be like that" would be better.

But where is the subject noun or pronoun? This is Col remember MR perfect English. :p

The subject noun or pronoun has also been banned in 13 countries. But very different ones.

I was using sarcasm as was pointed out earlier. (As you well know)
My English is not perfect, but I do like to help people who's first language is not English - like Americans for example, or people from the North UK.

Incidentally Bri, there's a programme on tonight about the North / South divide in the UK. Should be interesting to see how people actually manage in the North. I can't imagine what it must be like in those back-to-back two up two down houses.

Oh, I found out today our cleaner isn't in next week - bit of a sod really, might need to give her the push and get a Philippino in. Anyone know how to operate a hoover? I think ours is called Henry.
