Glad to realize you've met your match :D

Whatever helps you sleep at night bud.

Odd how you bash people with religious faith then dream up and believe something as absurd as the lion thing...

I was backing my point that common sense and rationality are basically the same thing. and I was hardly "Bashing" just eager to hear someone with a religious backgrounds response. Are you religious? If so, why not give my questions a go rather than nit picking little quotes?

Funny how people such as yourself answer little bits of huge responses because it helps them satisfy their egos.

and... what does 'get coffee on a drip' mean
[/QUOTE]

Oh, come on - don't they have DRIPS where you're from?

'bud'?

This little religious/atheist thing you have going is pointless. All relative points for both sides have been made numerous times. Funny when a new gang comes through the forum and rehashes it again with fresh absurdities like the lion analogy :D

We do have coffee makers that, I suppose, could be referred to as 'drips' because of the water drips through the coffee grinds. Just that I've never heard them referred to as drips. How do we hope to discuss religion when we can't have amicable dialog about coffee makers...

Yes?

Not at all pointless, I would be interested to hear someone religious answer my questions. I fear the only pointless thing being posted here is your posts "Bud". :)

A drip is a medical piece of equipment in which "drips" small amounts of liquid into the veins at a time. You see them a lot in hospitals. Which is why I say you require it on drip to have an even remotely civil conversation with :).

Another question, How do we hope to discuss anything, when you fail to answer most of a comment and only answer the parts you are able to ridicule?

I see. The 'bud' you used is some more of that slang you brits are somehow allowed to include in your otherwise 'proper' use of English...:) Quite witty how you managed to reply with a 'yes?' when I asked what it meant or did your laser logic an superior atheist common sense miss it was a question-

Nice try but I suspect your interest is to belittle someone that holds an opinion which is different than your own by implying they have no common sense -:)

It is more of a civil word in Britain, A shortened version of the word buddy.

By the way you are saying it as if you are shocked we are allowed to add little words to our language? I'm pretty sure that is what Americans did over there and called it "American-English". I'm also pretty sure that the term "Bud" is used over there a hell of a lot more frequently than over here :)

Oh, I knew it was a question and I wasn't trying to be witty, was just astonished an american such as yourself was not familiarised with the terminology. :o

Also why the need to include religious beliefs in a dispute over your lack of knowledge over the word "bud"?

Nice try but I suspect your interest is to belittle someone that holds an opinion which is different than your own by implying they have no common sense -:)

What did I try?

Somehow I'm sensing you are looking for some sort of moral foothold that you simply cannot grasp, I welcome with open arms peoples opinions but your pathetic attempts to attack little phrases in my posts wont get you what your searching for.

You on the other hand seem to scour the comments for little phrases you can ridicule. Completely ignoring the question that was asked and any other relevant information.

Nice try Bud(Pal,Friend - Take your pick). :D

EDIT: I think you still have some questions to answer above that you graciously forget to read every time I post :). I will give you some time to read back and answer some while I am away for a week. Hopefully you get to like this new "Gang", They seem nice people to me.

Over here - :D , depending on the context, bud is sometimes used punctate an adversarial moment - 'He bud, watch where your walking'...

I'm not searching for any kind of moral foothold, etc., just humored by some of the analogies in these threads.

As for answering questions, if you'll read back through this thread I think it's all pretty much been covered as to where the two sides stand. If it is enlightenment you really want, but I suspect not… ;)

Okay you two, play nice now!

(And think about who this is coming from....)

And Connor, at least over here (or at least where I've lived, anyway), if someone who's not a close friend calls you 'Bud', it's generally considered somewhat condescending. Not offensive, per se, but it does carry a bit of an "about to talk down to you" air about it. Probably the unwonted air of familiarity.

Also, I've got quite a few British friends (thanks to being in a mostly-British corp in EVE Online for a while), and I never once heard any of them say 'bud' to a stranger. :P

I think this is going pretty civil, at least were I come from :D

It was starting to head downhill.

Technically, it's a model of civility by the standards of where I come from - hello from Detroit and then Flint, btw. ;) Of course, by local standards, it's civil as long as the guns aren't fired!

Each to their own,

Bud can be used in those ways also. But I guess it depends on the personal meaning from where you were brought up.

My first point will be to show you how I quote the whole of your comment ;)

My Second being, who said I used it in that context? That would be your opinion, I can safely say I didn't use it (or intend for it to come across) in that context.

That isn't how you are coming across , Humour and nit picking are different over the pond aren't they? ;)

Actually they aren't - The arguement between D'Souza and Hitchens has not been commented on other than me and Galaxiom. So as it stands, I'm still waiting.

Then I don't envy where you live. :o

Don't speak too soon, Ken has guns.

Maybe you'll coax a sucker in sooner than later :p

Sure, maybe they'll even reply with an animal analogy. Sorry I digress :(

Hell, Maybe someday you may post something useful. Won't hold my breath ;)

At the risk of going back on what I stated concerning 'NOT debating the ingredients of Atheism and Theism', I will have to agree with you, Ken and also agree with a phrase spoken by one of the debaters in one of the videos I posted.

No matter how many ingredients you add to this pot , No matter how you stir them them up, it comes down to what Ken stated above: "All relative points for both sides have been made numerous times".

As Connor once said and I paraphrase, in the 'absence of evidence' the subject is considered 'false'. There is no DIRECT evidence supporting either side of the Atheist/Theist debate.

The Debater, I spoke of stated that each person regardless of which side of the coin you are on has to make a "Leap of Faith". This idea has been spoken of before on this thread several times, however, I did not see the futilism of the arguments until I watch several of the debates that are available where the argued details of this subject were far beyond those details presented on this thread.

As I have said many times before, 'You have a Choice", This choice affects only you, so Please make it a good one!

P.S. I do not really think this thread should be shut down since there is a whole lot of valuable ideas and information from a whole range of personal beliefs that would benefit others who endeavor to read either parts or the whole thread.
