At least ONE of the interpretations of the parable is that we cannot condemn a field for what it does or doesn't provide, for all fields produce according to their nature. (I know there are other interpretations, but that one applies here.)

Yep, that's pretty darn well-said.

It's a very harmful fad, though, which is taking away people's liberties to believe what they wish by pretending to do the opposite.

I believe I am a pink elephant and if thou darest to disagree, thou shalt be put in prison. Who would have thought our civilization would get so dumb that that would be an effective power strategy, as the elephant-identifier knows from the beginning a great % of people will strenuously object.
