yeah.. thats the view from here(UK looking at USA ) you have some mad polictian Jesse James ?? seems if its raining he pulls this card - whereas Crosby( the older comidan) seems to be making more sense by saying no hard work will get you more respect.. but thats froma Brit looking in..

Thats not to say there is not an in balance here in the UK - just that the attitdue(?) is differnet .

We have a great black comdian lady and she play the race card n a pop/comedy quiz after about 30 seconds - and it was done to show that it does not work - the poor guy she played it on hadn't even said a word - he was left there with no answer - (She was having a slight dig at the US) when asked where her roots were she came back and said the East end of London. - very funny lady

Mind you when i was in Altanta - I did see a divide between the poor (mainly black) and the whities mainly better off

and i would not walk around Philie - where as i would in just about any part of London (Black /white) mind you i would not walk around Manchester full stop .. its a bit dangerous there and thats not a colour issue

but not in London nor the home counties . where the majority live/work .

It's common in Essex and also in Bristol area to say chinky when referring to the meal. My sister-in-law is Chinese and she says it - she also says it tastes like crap but thats different.

I an glad that the chinnese are inthe UK - and the same with indians(pakistian) the food has added a flavour to our diets that is fantastic .

Now we have the recipe though . . . . . . . . .

not quite..- but there does seem to be a bit of a problem up in manchester .. went there last year to do a talk at a conference - the city centre look very good .- but the news throws a shadow over this ...

i have walked through most parts of London and I have never felt uneasy -- but being a (soft)southern i would probably scream like a baby if anyone pulled a knife on me..would probably need to change the trousers ..

to change the subject (yet again ) just doing dinner for the family and i am using a pressure cooker - do people still use these - i find them a lot better than anything else -cannot stand microwave food - ok to reheat but not for cooking ?

The only racisits are those who seek to turn a name for an establishment into a weapon in their perfectionism.
I have never stated that the Chinese, Indians ect. aren't hard working, please don't accuse me of making statements that never existed in the first place!

Some choose to not use words because of their derivation, others don't care.

The term 'chinky' to whatever it refers has not dropped out of the sky. It is derived from a term coined by bigots.

Some are concerned with this, others are not. I'd assume anyone interested in history would be.
