The Most...

You do get about don't you?

Any idea what's outside Berkshire?

Col

Yep grew up in Fife, went to uni in edinburgh, did my masters in aberdeen, lived in glasgow for a few years, spent a year in Manchester, then moved to slough for a job, I currently work in Southampton and starting a new job in Reading in January. That enough getting about for you.

Because I and every other self employed person pays the same amount of taxes as Joe Bloggs the factory worker, that's bloody why!
And as for the incapacity benefit try claiming it and see what you get, and don't quote articles from the state, they're a bloody lie

I can't claim unemployment benefit when I am working why should you be able to? Sounds like benefit fraud to me.

As I've already pointed out to you, if I have no work how can I be employed:rolleyes:

We need to go back to destroy the picture above type games so no words are used.

Ah, Scottish - I knew there was something peculiar. You're not English.

So you're an immigrant - no wonder you get a bit shirty when it's spoken about. If you lived in London, there's a club there called the International Club, you could go there and be amongst your own kind - lots of foreigners there, perhaps that may suit you.

Alternatively, you could go back to Scotland and stop harrassing the English in their own land, especially as we have had the good grace to employ you at the expense of an English person.

Col, you should be more respectful to a member of the colonial power which controlls your country.:D

This is the situation in Sweden. Lots of leaflets in lots of languages for immigrants. Mind you I have noticed that many swedes have similar views on immigration to many british people and feel there should be some control on the numbers

Thanks Rabbie

Very interesting. I was not aware that Sweden produced leaflets in other languages.

Also interesting to note that there is a % of the population tha thave similar views to a % of brits.

There will always be a % of a population who blame their own social discomfort on immigrants. Especially when fuelled by a potent mixture of a media trying to maintain viewing figures and a general economic downturn.

An anti-immigrant line of argument in the US is that 'they come over here and intentionally breed like rabbits'. Completely ignorant of the facts of why. ie. Catholicism.

Has it ever dawned on you that your administration system might be attempting to save money by trying to educate the base of it's applicants on how to fill in their forms correctly?

If the member of the colonial power showed more respect and was better mannered then I would. However, I'm afraid his comments and attitude must be indicative of how people must be dragged up in Scotland.

I thought England uses an VAT tax system? Is that not right?

I really wish we would adopt something like that here in the US. Sounds much better than an income tax.

The United Kingdom has both a VAT system and an income tax system (plus many other taxes).

The VAT is 15% added to the purchase price of an item and the income tax is a minimum of 22p in the pound above a tax threshold, more if you earn more.

Your quite right about it being how I was bought up. Racists don't desrve respect or politeness.

I agree. Actually I'm not a racist, but you won't believe that. Remember, alot of my posts have a hook on them.

But I do feel that sometimes the government does lose the way a bit over this P.C. business and directs too much attention on not upsetting certain people rather than focusing on more relevent home grown issues. As a result, that in itself could persuade people to be alienated towards foreigners.

BTW, Did you read about the school that edited it's nativity play because it was too religious?
