fail importing file name with dot

Hi,

I failed importing filename of TD_PLDecompLeg.AFS_HEL_ALL.2-27-2009.csv in both macro and manually

but no problem with TD_PLDecompLeg.AFS_HEL_ALL.2-27-2009.csv

any idea?

there is no difference in both the names, please check again that if you are putting the correct names.

I noticed that too, but I thought that old-style restriction of one dot per name had been lifted, and Unix-style names were allowed now.

Probably not in Access.

the trouble is that access wont allow a period in a table name

so you can have a file called

my.file.txt

but access cant create a table called my.file

try renaming the name of the new table in the transfer text command - see if that helps
