I'm hoping the next generation comes with 3G, USB and SD ports. I'm not a "pure" apple user so I'm not about to buy a bunch of Apple products just so I can "beam" info form one device to another.

I have one and I think it's pretty cool. I don't think it's supposed to replace a laptop. It does a few things really well - Net, email, ebooks, movies, podcast, some games, etc. All of these wrapped up in a portable and intuitive device. The best way I've heard it described is they're better suited fo content consumption and not so much for content creation...

My only complaint so far is lack of flash support :(

Steven Jobs don't like Flash so it will prolly never get flash support. going to have to wait for html 5 for that.

I would rather have a netbook or a laptop... Why would I want to carry around this thing that can't handle the same load or features that costs twice as much?

I hear there is a mini ipad coming out soon with a voice application included

HA, ...... I so wish some of my friends were participating in this thread, that would make them get all riled up (huge apple supporter...) Thanks for that.

ipad sucks for PC users - probably yes
Ipad sucks - probably not

Its great for people that just want to turn on and tune out.

that means
Quick boot up
While sitting on a comfy sofa infront of the telly.
And being super easy to use...

A lot of people previously not using the internet will probably use it more.

Database designers would be advised to take what lessons they can from this!!

Some people just like to get on the bash Apple or bash PC bandwagon. Screw the bandwagon, trying using one for a while then post a real review. And ditto on the db designer - best comment I've read here on the forum in a while :)

I am not apple or PC aligned, I thought the jokes were hilarious, and if I could afford one, I would probably get one (the Ipad that is).

I have used one. I was annoyed rather quickly that I couldn't do two things at once. I mean, come on!

That's the problem with you young whipper-snapppers, you try to take life too fast.... :p

Ha! You forget, by the power of deduction in your introduction thread, it wasn't hard to deduce an estimated age for you. ;)

One can but try....:D

Oh, go back to Blaster Master. :D

I remember a remake for the Playstation. It wasn't nearly as fun.

The Ipad would be much nicer if there was more homebrew development on it. If Apple would allow everyone to develop applications for it without "approval", it could go a lot further. Emulators anyone?

Homebrew development = viruses, etc. aka pc. One pc of junk per desktop is plenty :p

Homebrew development = less money for apple

Whats the point of the ipad? It's a big iphone without voice comms.
