Hi, I am really grateful already that I found this site. England based, I have been setting up databases in Access for about 30 years or whenever it emerged, having used Paradox previously. However I am definitely no programmer, and have always used the easy way out, though have created many forms, queries and reports over the years for my own and the safe data entry and reporting use by others. Now long retired and busier than ever, I set up and use Access for a village archive and separately for a parish magazine advertising payments and invoicing process.

Hello, Heather, and welcome to the forums. I, too, was a Paradox user. First, Paradox for DOS, then they converted to Windows and I followed. But Access 2.0 had a promotion that could buy Access for a reduced price if you had Paradox/Win on your machine - which I did. When I compared the two products, Access had all the hooks and bells and whistles I wanted, so I gave up on Paradox entirely. I felt they had "screwed the pooch" with their Windows implementation.
