I'm curious. The IT department just installed Microsoft Office 2010 on my work PC. I have created a new DB to play around with.

At the top of the access screen it gives the following:

Database2: Database(Access 2007)-Microsoft Access

Shouldn't it say (Access 2010) as opposed to (Access 2007)? Is that an option I need to select or default to? Or is it just something that carried over from Access 2007?

No, that's correct.

Yeah, I know. You're thinking, "Has Banana gone bananas?"

What the "2007" actually refers is to the file format of your database and not the application version. There is no such thing as "2010 ACCDB file format"; they decided they would continue to use exactly same file format from 2007 so you can share ACCDB file interchangably between 2007 and 2010... except for objects that are new to 2010, of course.

Some of us already has grumbled that there should have been a new 2010 file format to avoid the confusion/mixup of 2010 features sneaking into file format and thus causing problems in 2007, but well, that's how it's designed now.

Did that help?

OK, Good to know! That is fantastic, it just confused me a bit and I wanted to make sure there wasn't some option I was supposed to change. Thank you!
