does anyone know when Microsoft stop supporting Access 97?

Simple Software Solutions

From memory when you purchased Access 97 you used to get a free 90 day support with it. This went down to 3 calls. Then about 2002 they stopped selling it and 1 yeaer after that stopped suppporting it. Although you can still get Access 97 articles from the KB.

Go here for product lifecycle info:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifeselect

According to the lifecycle page mainstream support ended on 1 Jan 2004 (for Access 97 Standard) and 31 Aug 2001 for Office 97 Professional.

is there a problem darth?

access97 is surely more powerful than you could possibly imagine ...

and i expected Voldemort to say - no Harry, I AM your father, but it was not to be

I'm still using 97 for most of my production work. With a bit of 2000 and a tiny amount of 2003.

i always have my backend dbs's in A97 - they seem to work far more quickly than later versions, whatever the front end is. I definitely find A97 is quicker, but some clients have later versions. In general, there is very little functionality missing from A97

The main difference with A97 and latter is the code page setting. A97 operates on a 64bit size whilst higher version use 126bit this is why bloating is more evident in latter versions.
