Please see the attachment for the error message. Can you have more than one administrator for an Access database?

What is an "Access Database Administrator?"

Hello Mark, I control the database. Did you open the attachment with this message. I'm new at this position

I did not see an attachment, is that your edit?

What caused that error? What info is available when you click help? Maybe you tried to perform a file operation in Access and your Windows user account doesn't have sufficient permissions. Then the error is raised and handled inside of Access, but the problem is a Windows file permissions problem, which has nothing to do with Access.

Mark, Thanks for the quick reply........... I can open the attachment. I am here trying to help Eddie out. I am the other Administrator of the database.

So you guys are both Admins? Well, that answers the question . . .

As far as the error message goes, what caused the error? Is the database secured using user level security? Did you attempt to change windows settings using a tool based in Access VBA?

The error accures when I click on a user the message pops up that says you don't have the pemissions for this object. I do not see anything in the help. I cannot add new users and I do have admin rights. Ther is no VBA in it. Thank you for your assistance with this. The other person is leaving today for good. I can use the person who created the db log in information to make any changes that are needed.

I think you'll want to read up on what's called "User Level Security." I am not an expert in that part of Access, and as of Access 2007, Microsoft no longer includes user level security. It is not possible, as far as I know, to implement user level security in the new accdb file format, for instance.

yes

which version of access are you using.

In A2003 (mdb's) all users are automatically database administrators, unless you take specific steps for them not to be, which the above posts have referred to

In accdb's (ie after A2003) these settings have no effect.

Hence the need to clarify your setup
